1853 Sugar Alley · Sugarhouse, Salt Lake City, Utah
The Brief
Sugarhouse is one of Salt Lake’s most desirable neighborhoods. Walkable, mixed-use, and stubbornly its own thing.
Lowe Property Group came to us with an ambitious mixed-use project at 1853 Sugar Alley: ~200 residential units stacked over 18,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, in a building that had to look like it had always been there.
Then the building caught fire mid-construction. Two stories burned. The team rebuilt.
What came out of that rebuild posted the top-performing rents in all of Utah — proof that “incredibly refined, incredibly timeless” design holds up to fire and concession-heavy markets alike.
Full case study in development — new photography drops Spring 2026.

Want a building
that posts the top rents?
Sugar Alley proves the formula: design language people want to live inside, executed by a team that can absorb a fire and still deliver the brief. If your project needs that kind of resolve, we should talk.
